Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data MyAfroScholars collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

It covers the profile and verification details students provide, the identity and payment information sponsors provide, the data we generate as you use the platform, and the limited circumstances in which information is shared — for example with a sponsor reviewing your application, or with payment providers processing a disbursement.

We collect what a scholarship decision actually requires and no more: who you are, where you study, what you are applying for, and — for sponsors — what is needed to move money lawfully. Verification documents are held only as long as they are needed to support an application or satisfy financial-record obligations.

We do not sell personal data. Sharing is limited to what makes the platform work: a sponsor reviewing an application you submitted to them, payment providers processing a disbursement, and service providers who host or secure the platform under contract.

It also sets out how we secure your data, how long each category is retained, how to request access, correction or deletion, and how to contact us about a privacy concern. Requests can be sent to hello@myafroscholars.com.
